A country holiday with something for everyone
A walker's paradise with well marked trails leading in all directions. Heaven for mountain bikers. A cool place to do nothing more than read a book. But the area has more to offer: just over the hill is the city of Minerve, www.minerve-tourisme.com Then there's Carcassonne www.carcassonne.org
There really is something for everyone at Rainbows End. You can walk or bike the hill paths, wander by streams, do nothing but sample the local wine, visit the Sunday farmers market in Ferrals les Montagnes...and the day you fancy stretching your wings further the choice is vast. Visit the Cathar city of Minerve (16kms), voted one of the most beautiful villages in France, 48 kms will take you to the walled city of Carcassonne. Visit the tourist office sites and just see what these two cities have to offer. There are white water sports on the river Orb (half hour drive). A day trip to one of the Mediterranean beaches is a fun thing to do. Take in Narbonne on route and hang out in one of the sidewalk cafés. The Cathar castles are well worth a day trip.
Painting weekends and walking holidays
We do organise painting weekends or weekly stays. Please email for details. We don't organise walking holidays but do have and excellent collection of detailed maps and can collect you by car at the end of your walk and bring you back to base camp.
