Family farmhouse in the Haute Minervois

Rainbows End Farm is literally built into the hillside on a south facing hill dominating the hamlet of Autheze. All the rooms face south and look down onto the valley and the source of the river Vallette which flows from our third level garden. Wake to the sound of bird song and total peace.

The farm house has a kitchen with professional cooker, microwave, washing machine, large fridge/freezer and the usual collection of electric kettle, toaster etc.
The living/dining room has plenty of relaxing space, a large farm dining table and an open Languedocienne fireplace ideal for indoor BBQ. From the windows you will look out over the first and second level walled gardens where you are free to wander during the day. Two large walnut trees dominate the first garden and in the early summer the magnolia tree is covered in white flowers.
There is a generous sized ground floor bedroom with fitted wardrobe and a downstairs bathroom and as it is all on one level it could suit an elderly relative.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms. One bedroom has two threequarter double beds and adjoins the modern bathroom with bath/shower, wash hand basin and W.C. This bathroom is shared with the second bedroom which has a double bed and two single beds.
Outside is a private courtyard with summer kitchen and BBQ.
Above the farmhouse are the old bergeries now housing horses and our token flock of two sheep. Children will enjoy coming up to see the animals. The bergeries have been built into the rock face and the back walls are sheer rock and quite stunning.
The first level garden is the flower and vegetable garden and you will be able to pick your own fresh vegetables. The second level garden has paddocks for the horses and the third level garden has a stand of laurel trees and looks out onto the source. Under the shade of the trees with the sound of spring water running over rocks is an ideal place to sit with a book.
